Over $20,000 Dollars STOLEN from LA Club House!

Many not be aware that over the weekend of 16 May 2011, over $20,000 dollars worth of Taxidermy was STOLEN from the Lake Ashton Club House billiard room.

Additionally, while our Property Manager, George Flint of Governmental Management Services Company (GMS),  AND our CDD Board of Supervisor, are not only aware of this major crime, to date, NONE have even filed a police report!  Why?

George Flint and the CDD Board of Supervisors have an idea as to 'who' entered illegally into our club house and stole these items, but REFUSE to take any action.  WHY?

When a resident questioned Joe Hunter about the missing property, it has been conveyed that Joe Hunter simply replied that the items were 'his'.  Really?  

According George Flint and the CDD, the solution is to simply put new wall paper in the Billiard Room!  Really - the Residents will not only be out of over $20,000 dollars but will pay again, to decorate the Billiard Room with funds this community does not have.  Why?

As residents, WE paid for EVERY item in the Club House, including the Club House itself.  

If you are as outraged as I am regrading this issue, call, write, email or fax your displeasure to the CDD Board of Supervisors and demand: 

• the filing of a police report so an investigation can formally commence to discern WHO stole our property and then hold this thief accountable
• to dismiss our current property manager because a conflict of interest has long existed between George Flint, his GMS company, and the the developer.  The records highlight that when issues regarding the choice is to protect the Residents OR protect the developer, George Flint has ALWAYS protect the interests of the developer.  Thus, any and all contracts with George Flint and GMS needs to be terminated immediately for failure to protect the interests of this community.

Disability discrimination

Discrimination against people with disabilities in favor of people who are not is called ableism or disablism. 

Disability discrimination is a form of discrimination or social prejudice against people with disabilities.   The "ableist" societal world-view is that the able-bodied that are the norm in society, and that people who have disabilities must either strive to become that norm or should keep their distance from able-bodied people. A disability is thus, inherently, a "bad" thing that must be overcome.

     One may expect that future cases under the ADA will now focus less on the threshold question of whether a person is disabled, and will focus more on whether discrimination occurred, including whether an accommodation or modification was unjustly denied.

·        Lied to the Residents by misrepresenting the truth and the extent of the problem	·        Refuses to file a law suit against the FOUR companies (3 of which are still in business) , that were responsible in the building our defective roadways
·        Resisted and fought against obtaining  engineering assessments regarding the statues of our roadways	·        INSTEAD of holding those who built these defective roadways accountable. are making plans that will cost the Residents hundreds of thousands of dollars to attempt to repair our failing roads
·        Wasted $78,000 of residents money by NOT informing lawyers that there was a lifelong, multi-Million road repair problem	·        That is right – these ‘leaders’ much rather reach into YOUR pocket to pay for the life long road repair problems vice having those who built these defect roads held accountable and pay for these repairs
·        All of their votes and actions to date, have been in favor of the Developer and at the expense and determent to all the Residents

·        Every year PROMISE the residents they will resubmit RFPs to order to obtain price, services as well contracts that will financially benefit the residents vice the developer only	·        Have wanted to hire a consulting and marketing firm to find someone to run our restaurant … That’s right, PAY someone large fees with monies we do not have, in ‘hope’ of finding someone to run our restaurant.
·        To date, our ‘leaders’ still haven’t crafted or submitted RFPs regarding these costly contracts.	·        Refuse to listen to Residents who are, and have, been VERY successful in the restaurant industry ·        Have refuse all offers regarding the restaurant that were designed to financially benefit the Residents of Lake Ashton and not the developer
	·        Are still reluctant to write and submit RFPs that will benefit the Lake Ashton Community – these ‘leaders’ much rather hire someone to do their job OR create a committee to pretend to be doing something
	·        Lake Ashton East has been in the Residents control for the past 5 years and ‘our leaders’ have done NOTHING that benefits the residents in this area – ALL their actions and votes have been in support of the developer

·        Currently, the Developer is stealing everything he can get his hands on, yet our ‘leadership’ refuse to call the police or intervene on the residents behalf.
·        Just check out the pool room in the club house – all the animal heads suddenly disappeared one night. ·        Lawn equipment and more disappearing
·        WHY hasn’t our ‘leadership’ demanded that when the developer remove items and equipment for our community, to produce a proof of purchase.  Otherwise EVERYTHING in the Lake Ashton BELONGS to the Residents since we have paid for these things when we moved here in the form of our pro-rata share of the repayment of the infrastructure bonds that built Lake Ashton.

When the term Carpetbagger(s) is used today it is as a  derogatory reference;  suggesting opportunism and exploitation by those who form alliances to politically manipulate and control environments (local and city governments etc..) for their own personal financial and power gains.

Since lies, deceit and rumor is the order of the day at Lake Ashton, this site is going to do its best to discern if a rumor is false, true or a partial truth, but using a rating system that is similar to the Snopes Site.

Confusion at the HFC

Per the rumor status, the following has been deemed to be:

 O  = True    

To all Residents of Lake Ashton;

There has been a lot of misinformation regarding the happenings at the HFC on 5 April 2011.  We would now like to report the truth. 

Durning the victory celebration at the Holiday Inn, Lake Wales,  we received a phone call from a concerned neighbor regarding a threat made by Brenda Van Sickle.  Since lies, deceit and rumor is the order of the day at Lake Ashton, we initially didn't think much more about it. 

Upon returning to Lake Ashton we received another call from another concerned resident who had just heard the results of the election and expressed concern over the threat Brenda Van Sickle had made to them about the outcome of the election.  We now became concerned and proceeded to the losers party at the HFC since that not only did Jack Van Sickle lose the election, but he lost by a landslide.

Upon arrival at the HFC, we found no reserved signs and the door to the ballroom area was open.  The entire steering committee for the Ad HOC committee entered the room.  Brenda Van Sickle then approached us and spoke directly to Dick Ralls.  Van Sickle stated "…that this was a private party, they had paid for the room…"; that aside, Dick asked Brenda "...if it was a fact that she would get even with the Lake Ashton Residents, through her seat on the CDD, should her husband, Jack Van Sickle, failed to win the election...". 

Brenda's initially response to Dick's question by stating "…that she never said that…".  Then Dick Ralls said to Brenda, "we have two wittiness that will swear in court, that she had made this threat".  Brenda then replied by stating "…that while I may have said that I might have mixed up my words and for that I am sorry".  Dick's finally reply was that "...you must mix up your words a lot since you stated this many times...". 

That was the ONLY discussion between us and Brenda Van Sickle.

Then Shirley Ference walked up and stated that "...the room had been reserved, had been paid for, and that we were not welcome...". 

The only fowl language or threats made the evening of 5 April 2011, were made by Paul Pontious who said "…Dick, how can you hang out with that ugly bitch.."   We immediately turned and left the room and as we were departing, the room sent out a young man with the purpose of delaying our departure, who was not a resident and was stoned out of his mind. 

The next day we found out that the room HAD NOT been paid for, that there were NO rules or guidelines established by CDD West, regarding use of the HFC facility, particularly the rooms, and while the room had been reserved to celebrate someone by the name of Robert's birthday, and NOT for an illegal political gathering.  It is a shame that Shirley Ference, a well educated woman who dedicated her life to world peace, has given in to not telling the truth.

When the complaint of election tampering is filed against John Rogers, a similar complaint will be filed against Brenda Van Sickle.
