As a young Second Lieutenant in the Marine Corps I was assigned an additional duty to be my Battalion’s Substance Abuse Control Officer or SACO. The privilege of being assigned the duty of SACO one was taught everything the Government knew on controlled substances to include Marijuana.  Looking back some 30 plus years, it surprises me that the Government and the FEAR Mongers messages has not changed, yet much has been learned about this substance over the past 3 decades such as there are:

·       over34 medical studies that prove cannabis cures cancer

·       is proven and preferred treatment over drugs for

o   PTSD, Pain

o   Arthritis The ancient Chinese can't be wrong: cannabis may be able to "undo" rheumatism.

o   treatment for Alcoholism, Diabetes, Cannabis can help reduce blood sugar, improve blood pressure, and, when used in the kitchen, is incredibly heart-healthy.

o   treatment for Opioid addiction

·       And the list of benefits goes on while not a single death is attributed to a marijuana overdose according to the CDC, contrary to what the FEAR Mongers would like you to think.

With all of this recent science why has the FEAR monger’s message not changed; one has to ask why? 

Did you know that our Government has a cannabis Patent No.6630507, that covers the use of cannabinoids for treating a wide range of diseases and can explain why some are doing everything they it can to delay Medical Marijuana until Big Pharma can develop manmade drug(s) to do what Marijuana already does; and we all have seen what happens to drug prices. 

That is why I am asking all Compassionate Floridians to Vote Yes on Amendment 2.   Please support hurting Floridians and not pad the wallets of Big Pharma.

Mulberry, the Worst Nuclear Waste Accident in the history of the United States

As a comparatively new comer to Florida, I, like most new residents, are unaware of the environmental dangers facing not only Florida’s water, but the drinking water of the entire East Coast of the USA. 

I wasn’t aware that the Mulberry Sinkhole was the 2^nd gypsum stack failure, the first was at Piney Point, of which the State authorized the pumping/dumping the radioactive toxic waste from Piney Point into the Gulf. 

I was not aware that Florida has at least 1 Billion Tons of radioactive phosphogypsum with an additional 30 million tons added annually, of which Florida doesn’t know what to do with.  

Yet Governor “Toxic” Scott and “Take the money and Run” Pam Bondi, continue to lobby to bring 22 new Phosphate mining operations, as well as Fracking, to Florida.

It is time to tell Governor “Toxic” Scott and our local, State and Federal elected officials, that enough is enough!  2 of the 22 gypsum sites have already failed. 

Not to mention that, No One is monitoring the abandoned mines/dump sites left exposed to Florida’s extreme weather that continue to drain into our environment unchecked.

It is time to BAN all Phosphate, Uranium, Fracking operations in Florida UNTIL the Billion tons of phosphogypsum and radioactive tailings from all mines, have been safely removed from Florida (and NOT dumped into our oceans), and our watershed returned to its original state.

It is time for the Federal Government to require the monitoring of ALL water sources for radioactive materials and publicly post results to keep residents informed.

Piney Point disaster, and now Mulberry sinkhole failures, amount to the Worst Nuclear Waste Accidents in the History of the United States that will impact Millions of American Citizens well into the future.

Very interesting Bit of Legislative History: 

McCarran-Walter Act of 1952

Donald Trump was recently severely criticized for suggesting that the U.S. should limit or temporarily suspend the immigration of certain ethnic groups, nationalities, and even people of certain religions (Muslims).  The criticisms condemned such a suggestion as, among other things, being “Un-American,” dumb, stupid, reckless, dangerous and racist.  Congressmen and Senators swore that they would never allow such legislation, and Obama called such a prohibition on immigration unconstitutional .

As Gomer Pyle would say, “Surprise, Surprise!!!”  It seems that the selective immigration ban is already law and has been applied on several occasions.  The Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952, a.k.a., the McCarran-Walter Act allows for the "Suspension of entry or imposition of restrictions by the president”.  Whenever the president finds that the entry of aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, the president may, by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or non immigrants or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate.”

Note that McCarran and Walter were Democrats and this act was utilized by Jimmy Carter, no less, in 1979 to keep Iranians out of the United States … but he actually did more.  He made all Iranian students already here check in, and then he deported a bunch.  Seven thousand were found in violation of their visas, 15,000 Iranians were forced to leave the United States in 1979. You won't hear a word about this from the liberal media, propaganda machine.

It is of note that the act requires that an applicant for immigration ”must be of good moral character” and "attached to the principles of the Constitution.” 

Since the Quran forbids Muslims to swear allegiance to the U.S. Constitution, technically, all Muslims should be refused immigration.
